"Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love,
the things you are, the things you never want to lose.

Beverly Hill

Born
June 11, 1924
Deceased
June 30, 2003
Miss Bev’s long friendship with Bay Cliff began in 1989 when she was employed as a Linen Room Assistant. She continued to work in the Linen Room for a total of thirteen summers - continuously from 1989-2000 and then again in 2002. She took over as Linen Room Supervisor in 1993 in the footsteps of Miss Josie Wurzer. Bev warmly greeted campers & staff as they entered and always found what was needed in the stacks of clothes. There were treats for the well-behaved child, and to Miss Bev, all the campers were well-behaved in her Linen Room.

Beverly B. Hill, 79, of Marquette, died Monday afternoon at the Norlite Nursing Center where she had been a resident a short while.

Mrs. Hill was born on June 11, 1924 at Crookston, Minnesota to the late Sam and Pearl (Lundquist) Miller. She was a graduate of Staples, Minnesota High School.

Bev worked with her late husband, Jack, in the family business, White’s Party Store for many years. After selling the store, she worked on the staff of Bay Cliff Health Camp through last year. She also read stories to the children in the Gardenroom Kindergarten class in Big Bay.

Surviving are five children, Judy (Marshall) Frillici of Marshall, WI, Michael (Janie) Hill of San Antonio, TX, Robin (Michelle) Hill of Appleton, WI, Barbara (Paul) Bertagnoli of Menominee, MI and Tim Hill of Marquette; two brothers, Leonard J. (Donna) Miller of Staples, MN and Glenn (Ardys) Reed of Morgan Hills, CA; also surviving are ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband, John R. “Jack” Hill on June 9, 2000.

A memorial service was held today at 11 a.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church of Big Bay with the Rev. William Payne officiating.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are kindly asked to consider the Bay Cliff Health Camp, Big Bay, MI 49808.
