Don was born January 31, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, a son of the late Clarence "Red" and Sadie (Daines) Pavloski. He was a 1955 graduate of Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids. He then attended the Ray-Vogue School of Photography in Chicago later receiving an Associates Degree from Bay de Noc Community College in Escanaba in 1969 and a Bachelor's Degree from Northern Michigan University.
Don was employed as NMU's official photographer for 30 years and was actively involved in the community in which he lived.
He loved to travel and spend quality time with his grandchildren and family. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Marilyn Ann Friedgen whom he married on November 9, 1957 in Escanaba; six children, Mark Donald (Sherri) Pavloski of Rudyard, MI, Amy (Rob) Armstrong of Pensacola Beach, FL, Paul Eric (Sheila) Pavloski of Appleton, WI, Holly (Chopper Shanks) Pavloski of Negaunee, Jackie Nason of Victorville, CA and Ann (Christopher) Collins of Negaunee;12 grandchildren, Nicholas and Daine Pavloski, Morgan and Madeline Armstrong, Del, Mick and Ben (Stephanie) Shanks, Riley, Caiden and Mallorie Nason, Eli and Abby Collins; four great grandchildren, Kain, Koal, Autumn and Madison Shanks; four siblings, Janice (Chuck) Hepp of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Peter (Barb) Pavloski of Nekoosa, WI,, Tom (Rita) Pavloski of Wisconsin Rapids, and Mary Ann (Mitch) Anderson of Eagan, MN; a sister-in-law, Darlene Pavloski of Hancock; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother, Mike Pavloski.
Visitation will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Larry VanDamme officiating.
Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Don's grandsons will act as his casket bearers.
