NEWBERRY — Lifelong Newberry resident, Mary Jo Hetrick, 78, died Thursday morning December 13, 2007 at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry.

Born October 24, 1929 in Newberry, daughter of the late Maurice and Dorothea (Green) Beaudin, Mary Jo was a 1947 graduate of Newberry High School. A devoted homemaker, she served as a trustee on the Luce County Board of Commissioners for 14 years. Mary Jo was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and her hobbies and interests included music, reading, automobile rides in Luce County and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer, presently residing at D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette; children Jim (Diana) of Negaunee, Elmer (Virginia) of Portage, Bill (Jean) of Marquette, Bob (Lisa) and Linda (Cecil) Sevarns all of Newberry; 18 grandchlidren and 14 great-grandchildren; siblings Jim (Janet) of Newberry, Bill (Carolyn) of Shawno, WI, and Anne (Gus) Swanson of Newberry; sister-in-law Jan (John) Garrett of McMillan.

A Memorial Mass celebrating the life of Mary Jo Hetrick will be held Monday December 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Newberry with Fr. Paul Karottekunnel officiating. Inurnment will take place at Forest Home Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday, December 17 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass.
