Jeanette was a Bay Cliff camper for 7 summers from 2002-2008. She was always known for her beautiful smile, her favorite color pink, and the kindness & support she gave to her friends.

Jeanette Ann Wakeham, 21, a resident of Hancock unexpectedly passed away Saturday morning November 5, 2011.

She was born on July 22, 1990, in Washington, DC, and moved to Atlantic Mine in 1994 when she was adopted by William and Gloria (Lantto) Wakeham. Jeanette graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 2009. Since August, she has made her home in the Quincy Heaven addition of Lakeview Manor in Hancock.

Jeanette was employed at the Calumet Library during her junior and senior years of school and more recently she volunteered at the Portage Lake District Library.

Jeanette was a member of the Houghton Baptist Church where she loved to sing praise and worship songs. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, and facebooking with friends. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends. Jeanette was very proud to recently obtain her own apartment.

Surviving are: Her parents: William and Gloria Wakeham of Atlatnic Mine. Her siblings: Karen (Micahel) Washo of Valparaiso, IN; Karrie Wakeham of Atlantic Mine; Mary of Atlantic Mine; Greg (Kristine) Wakeham of Liminga; Justin (Katie) Wakeham of Phoenix, AZ; Logan Wakeham of Iron Mountain; Clayton Wakeham of Atlantic Mine; Jerome Wakeham of Atlantic Mine; Steven Wakeham of Atlantic Mine; Zac Wakeham of Hancock; Jason Wakeham of Hancock; Randy of Atlantic Mine; Jeff of Atlantic Mine. Her nieces & nephews: Whittney Wakeham; Amanda & Emma Washo, Eric Washo, Elijah Wakeham. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. A special friend Diane, whom she spent her last precious moments with.

A memorial service for Jeanette will be held 11 am Friday November 11, 2011, at the Houghton Baptist Church with Pastor David Whitaker to officiate. Burial will be in the Liminga cemetery.

Friends may call on Friday November 11, 2011, from 10 am until time of services at the church.
