Ishpeming – Carolyn Ann Bengson, age 33 of Ishpeming, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at the Bell Memorial Hospital after being on the ventilator for five months. She was born with Spina Bifida.
Carolyn was born November 27, 1968 in Ishpeming to Lois (Miller) & the late Marvin A. Bengson. Carolyn attended many of the local schools, graduated from the Westwood High School, and attended Northern Michigan University.
Carolyn enjoyed crafts, her two birds and using her computer. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Spina Bifida UP Michigan Association. She will be sadly missed by her many friends, aids, and caregivers from UP Home Health.
Carolyn is survived by her mother Lois Bengson of Ishpeming, a brother Douglas (& Julie) Bengson of Appleton, niece Megan & nephew Trevor, aunts & uncles; Jean & Jay Natrop of Mayville, WI, Dan & Pat Miller of Elgin, IL, Florence & Reino Kestila of Ishpeming, along with several cousins. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Marvin Bengson, paternal grandparents Alger & Olga Bengson and her maternal grandparents Howard & Alice Miller.
Funeral services were held on September 30, 2002 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming. Rev. Paul G. Donelson officiated. Burial was in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
Friends called at the Wesley United Methodist Church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Pallbearers were Larry, Brian, Dave, & Reino Kestila, Dave & Dean Laitinen, Joel & Chris Natrop, Jay Natrop, & Dan Miller.
