Bay Cliff offers the following camp positions for our eight-week Children's Summer Therapy Session: 


THERAPY STAFF:

Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech TherapistsInstructor for the Hearing Impaired, Instructor for the Visually Impaired, Music Therapist, Recreation Therapist, Student Therapists

Therapists are responsible for providing a thorough and intensive therapy program based on the individual needs of the campers. All therapists must be licensed/certified, as required by the State of Michigan. PTA & COTA applicants with pediatric experience are considered. Student therapists are senior or graduate level students completing practicum/clinical experiences necessary for graduation or certification. UNIT STAFF:

Camp Counselors

Responsible for the overall, 24-hour per day care and well-being of assigned children in cabin/unit. Must be 18 years of age and have completed one year of college, preferably in the study of special education, education, therapy, pre-medicine, nursing, recreation or human services. 

Unit Leaders 

Responsible for the leadership and managment of the unit.  Oversees the care, participation and success of all the campers in their unit.  Provides direction, supervision and support for counselors. 


ACTIVITY INSTRUCTORS:

Lifeguards, Arts & Crafts Instructor, Arts & Crafts AideNature Instructor, Recreation Instructor

Responsible for planning and implementing classes for all units in camp, with activities appropriate for age level and handicap. Certified teachers are preferred. Waterfront staff are responsible for both guarding and instruction with positions available for Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors. Boating, canoeing, and kayaking instructors are required to have the necessary certification in their watercraft area, and in lifeguarding. Therapists are available to answer questions regarding camper abilities and for collaboration.


HEALTH COTTAGE STAFF:

Nurses

Responsible for overall health care and medical needs of campers and staff. Positions for both Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses are available.


DENTAL COTTAGE STAFF:

Dental Clinic Supervisor, Dental Assistant

Complete dental care is provided for thr children by summer dental staff and visiting dentists in the program. Must be licensed and professionally trained.  Read about the experiences of dental students at Bay Cliff.


PROGRAM DEPARTMENT STAFF:

Program Director, Assistant Program Director/Teen Coordinator

The Program Staff is responsible for coordinating the daily camp schedule, evening all-camp activities, weekend programs and special events.  Previous Bay Cliff staff experience is required.


FOOD SERVICE STAFF:

Assistant Cook, Baker, Kitchen Aides, Food Service Aides, Dining Room Supervisor, Dining Room/Camp Aides

Cooks are responsible for overall supervision of the kitchen. Kitchen Aides assist with preparation for meals and clean up of the kitchen/bakery. The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for overall supervision of the Dining Room Aides and the total operation of the Dining Room. Dining Room/Camp Aides assist with preparation/serving of meals and clean up afterwards. Dining Room/Camp Aides also are assigned to help in other departments and camp activities.


AUXILIARY STAFF:

Linen Room Staff, Laundry/Housekeeping Aides, Linen/Laundry/Housekeeping Supervisor, Maintenance, Office Secretary

The Linen Room Staff organize and provide clothes for all campers.  Laundress and Laundry/ Housekeeping Aides clean all camper clothing and bedding for staff and campers, and have housekeeping responsibilities for certain areas of camp. Maintenance aides do routine cleaning, repairs and camp maintenance. Secretaries work in the camp office with general clerical responsibilities and are responsible to the camp secretary.
