Donor Recognition Policy

The Bay Cliff Board of Directors wishes to acknowledge individuals, groups, and organizations that contribute to the Building for the Future campaign and establishes the following guidelines for providing such recognition.

Bay Cliff Health Camp has a rich history characterized by strong emotional bonds formed between campers and staff and camp traditions that have strengthened their feelings of connectedness to Bay Cliff. Over the years, campers and staff have named camp buildings and exterior sites, and this familiarity with facilities has helped in forging the strong ties that staff and camper alumni have with Bay Cliff. The Board of Directors is proud of the camp’s history and wishes to preserve the camp’s traditions.

Therefore, the Board of Directors establishes as policy that all Bay Cliff buildings will continue to carry their traditional name designations (e.g., Big House, Shady Nook) and that naming of buildings will not be a form of recognition offered as part of the Building for the Future campaign. Although this policy prohibits the naming of buildings after major donors to the campaign, the Board heartily supports the sponsorship of buildings by major donors and recognizing these generous gifts by attractive plaques placed in visible areas.

Means of Providing Recognition

The names of all persons who contribute to the Building for the Future campaign will be listed in an attractive Friends of Bay Cliff logbook that will be displayed in the Visitors Center.

Sponsors of Buildings

A plaque noting that the new or renovated building was made possible through a major donation by (name of person/family/organization) and the year the building project was completed will be noted. The plaque recognizing the sponsor will be placed near the main entrance to the building. All exterior recognition plaques will be of the same design and size, approximately 10 X 14 inches.

Sponsors of Rooms, Gathering Spaces, and Exterior Program Areas

When an area within a building is sponsored, the recognition plaque will be displayed within the space that is sponsored.

If an outside area is involved, the plaque will be displayed on a large rock located near the outside area involved. All signs will be of the same design and size, approximately 6 X 12 inches.
