Tim Bennett is the Executive Director of Bay Cliff Health Camp and has served as the Camp Director since 1992. Tim joined the Bay Cliff staff in 1988 as the Assistant Director and Educational Coordinator. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Michigan University in Social Work, Psychology and Business Administration and has worked in the not-for-profit sector, primarily serving children and adults with disabilities, for over 30 years.
Prior to coming to Bay Cliff, Tim was the Executive Director of Combined Health Services of the Upper Peninsula, a federation of eight State & National not-for-profit health agencies. Over the years, Tim has served on numerous local and state Boards. Tim is currently a member and chairman of the Diocese of Marquette Board for the Protection of Children and is a member of the Upper Peninsula Children's Coalition and the St. Peter Cathedral Pre-marriage Ministry for engaged couples. He also has a professional membership with the American Camping Association.
Tim and his wife Dianne have four daughters: Kelly, Katie, Anna & Molly
Karen Schlicher is the Assistant Director and Educational Coordinator at camp and has served Bay Cliff in this role since 1993. Karen holds a Masters degree in Communication Disorders. She worked in the Munising Public Schools as a speech-language pathologist for thirteen years before coming to Bay Cliff in an administrative capacity. Prior to her full-time position with Bay Cliff, Karen was on the summer camp staff for fifteen years in a variety of roles including cabin counselor, unit leader, auxiliary staff positions, and speech-language pathologist. She is a member of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Michigan Council for Exceptional Children. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Willow Farm Therapeutic Riding program. She also volunteers time at the Room at the Inn homeless project in Marquette, MI.
Christy Osborn is the Therapy Coordinator and Program Coordinator for Bay Cliff Health Camp. Before joining the year-round staff at Bay Cliff in 2005, Christy worked as a camp counselor, unit leader, and physical therapist for Bay Cliff's summer therapy camp. Christy is a Northern Michigan University (NMU) alum and received her clinical doctorate (DPT) in physical therapy from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in 2002. She has experience working with children and adults of all ages in various health care settings, from intensive care units to outpatient clinics. Christy enjoys combining her clinical knowledge and skills with program planning and development. She has professional memberships with the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine and the American Physical Therapy Association, where she serves as Michigan’s state representative for the Section on Pediatrics. Christy also volunteers her time as a mentor and community service internship advisor for NMU’s Student Leader Fellowship Program.
Janet Pinar is the Administrative Assitant and Office Manager at Bay Cliff Health Camp. After graduating from Ewen-Trout Creek High School, Janet pursued her college degree at Northern Michigan University. In 1996, she graduate with an Associate's Degree in Office Information Systems and joined the Bay Cliff Family as a secretary.
Gerry Mattis is the Maintenance Supervisor at Bay Cliff Health Camp. Gerry grew up in the Big Bay area, attending Powell Township Schools and Bishop Baraga High School. After graduating from Northern Michigan University (NMU), Gerry was employed as a maintenance mechanic, welder, and electrician at Lake Shore Inc. for many years. He also worked at NMU in their “Industrial Maintenance Training” program, developing curriculum and instructing. Gerry joined the Bay Cliff staff in 1999.
Gerry and Sharon, his wife of 37 years, have three children and six grandchildren.
Keith Campbell is the Assistant Maintenance Supervisor at Bay Cliff Health Camp.
