Born June 14, 1956, in Marquette, a daughter of John and Karen (Small) Peterson, Jill was raised in Marquette and graduated from Marquette Senior High School, Class of 1974. Following graduation, Jill worked for a time at local convenience store/gas stations as manager. On September 25, 1976, Jill married Frank Hulverson, and together the couple set about establishing a home in Marquette. Jill enjoyed her role as wife and homemaker, and then, mother, as she began raising their only daughter, Karen. Jill loved her home and spent countless hours in its upkeep and beautification. Hers was the home on the Fourth Street hill with the beautiful, huge, hanging plants and flowers beds that were admired by all who passed by. She loved gardening and, when winter came, she was one of the few who loved shoveling snow and usually had the cleanest, snow free, driveway in town. And, during the holidays, her home was decked out in large wreaths, greenery, and lights. The interior of the home was as beautiful and immaculate as the exterior. She was a skilled crafter and was always doing something around the house. She loved spending summer days at the family camp in Big Bay, having worked at Bay Cliff Health Camp in her youth, and had a love of animals, especially dogs. However, her priority and most fulfilling moments were spent with family, especially the grandchildren. She would spend hours with the grandkids, reading to them, playing with them, attending their sporting events, and teaching by word and example how to care for family and home.
A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, niece, and cousin, Jill is survived by her husband of 40 years, Frank; her daughter, Karen (Steve) Rehn of Ishpeming; her grandchildren, Addison, Grace, Owen, and Levi Rehn all of Ishpeming; a brother, Alan (Cindy) Peterson of Skanee; an uncle, Darryl (Eileen) Small of Big Bay; aunts, Nancy (Richard) Toyra of Marquette and Janice Romaine of Melbourne, FL; many cousins, including a special cousin, Ron and Lavern Baggiore of Ishpeming.
Jill was preceded in death by her parents.
